Why become an examiner?

Examining is an enjoyable experience which allows you to gain more experience of the undergraduate curriculum at the medical school, and to see first-hand the outcomes of your input in teaching and training the students.

  • Examiners contribute to the training and development of the next generation of doctors.
  • The examinations provide a networking opportunity for doctors with a keen interest in medical education.
  • Examining is recognised as a ‘Supporting Professional Activity’ and a source of CPD for appraisal and revalidation.
  • Examining helps to keep doctors up to date with developments in the undergraduate curriculum.

Who can become an examiner?

We encourage doctors who work locally and have experience teaching Hull York Medical School students to consider examining for us as our training is specific to Medicine at the School and is not transferable to other institutions.
