Find out how to apply for one of our intercalated Masters or undergraduate degrees.
Step 1: Inform your Medicine programme
You will need to let your Medical School know of your intention to take an intercalation year.
Each Medical School has their own process and deadline for this, so please check with your Medical School. You may be required to notify your Medical School of your chosen programme by a specified deadline.
Step 2: Apply to your chosen programme of study
You must apply to your intercalating programme through the normal admissions process for your chosen programme.
This is separate to and in addition to applying to your Medical School for your leave of absence from your MB BS programme.
For MSc programmes:
Visit the course page for your chosen programme and click to apply via the University of Hull or York's website.
For BSc programmes:
Complete the Intercalated BSc (Hons) Medical Science online application form.
Step 3: Apply for funding
We encourage intercalating applicants to explore funding for intercalated degrees to see if they are eligible. The application closing dates for funding are usually earlier in the academic year than the programme application closing dates.
