You've done it!

Your hard work and dedication have paid off. You’ve secured your place at a Top 31 medical school where you’ll gain broad clinical experience, develop your clinical reasoning through problem-based learning, and build the communication skills, confidence and compassion you need to become an exceptional doctor.

We can’t wait to see you again when you join us this September as part of our next generation of Medicine students.

Next steps

What happens next

To prepare for the start of the year, Hull York Medical School, the University of Hull and the University of York will all be in touch with some important information.

You will receive instructions to your UCAS-registered email address. When it arrives, make sure you read it all carefully.

Here's what to look out for...

Hull York Medical School

We'll be in touch with information on:

  • Setting up your Hull York Medical School IT account. An important first step - this account is where you will receive your key information. Expect an invitation in your email. You should do this straight away and then complete your online ICT induction.
  • Our Welcome Event – Monday 28 September; look out for further information a week before the event.
  • Any additional requirements or adjustments identified in your Occupational Health assessment.
  • Obtaining your DBS check for entry onto the programme – look out for an email in early September.
Hull and York Universities

Both Hull and York will contact you separately about:

  • Setting up your University IT accounts. You will have different login details for each campus, which give you access to the library, email and IT. You will need this for future years so make sure you set up both accounts and know how to log in
  • Enrolment. You will be registered with both universities throughout your MB BS programme, so please complete both enrolment processes
Your home university

Your home campus (either the University of Hull or York) will email you about:

  • Accommodation
  • Arranging your finances and tuition fees
  • Your university induction
  • Additional tasks for international students

Vaccinations

Health professional students have a professional duty to protect patients from risks posed by their health, and to be immunised against common serious communicable diseases, unless contraindicated.

All Medicine students are strongly encouraged to complete appropriate vaccination schedules before starting clinical placement, unless medically exempt.

Up-to-date vaccinations are the most effective way to protect yourself, your patients and your colleagues from transmissible infections. Hull York Medical School will align with all professional and legal requirements in this regard.

Further details on vaccination requirements are available in the Occupational Health Assessment sent to all offer holders. This assessment requires completion and submission before arrival.
