I am a Research Associate working on the ESRC-funded study "There’s no place like home: Exploring dying at home in urban poverty". Over three years the study will explore how different housing types and tenures impact people's experiences of living with advanced illness and dying at home.
My academic background is in humanities and social sciences research, primarily exploring people's experiences of the built environment. I gained an MA in historic architecture from the University of Bologna in 2019, and joined the Wolfson Palliative Care Research Centre in 2020. As part of the Wolfson team I have worked on Applied Heath research studies including the CANAssess clinical trial and the SENTINEL quality improvement project.
My PhD (awarded 2025) explored the architecture and design of hospices in England, combining approaches from Human Geography and Applied Health to show how the designs of hospice buildings impact people's experiences of giving and receiving palliative care.

I am an interdisciplinary researcher interested in how people experience and perceive the built environment. My research explores how architecture and design impact people's experiences of living with advanced illness and disability, ageing, and receiving healthcare in institutional settings and at home.
PhD Student Achievement of the Year 2025: Educate North Awards. Highly Commended in recognition of my work to develop UK policy and practice recommendations for hospice buildings.
